Novato Baylands Stewards is tasked with growing tens of thousands of plants and restoring them in the wetlands of Hamilton Field and the adjoining Bel Marin Keys parcel. Read “Planting A Community in the Novato Wetlands,” an article on the CNPS Marin website, describing their mission and positive impacts on the environment and the community.
The tour will begin at the nursery and “garden and in-ground propagation beds.” We will then caravan out on dirt roads (weather permitting) to see the newest wetland restoration area in the Bel Marin Keys parcel. This a very stunning location (east of BMK homes). We will see the new levee. It is not accessible to the general public, so it is a unique opportunity. Additional transportation available in NBS trucks and golf carts if needed.

Masks are required in the nursery building.

e will meet in our cars at the locked gate on the road to the nursery at 10 AM and then drive to the nursery together. Please arrive on time, or you will not be able to join us. The gate, (GPS coordinates: 38.059809, -122.526582) is located on Hamilton Parkway, at intersection with Aberdeen Rd.(which is unmarked, and not on some maps). Gate is about 500 ft southeast of the Novato Skate Park along Hamilton Parkway. The gate is located along a chain link fence.
FROM the NORTH: From Highway 101 south bound, Take Exit 459A for Ignacio Blvd toward Bell Marin Keys Blvd/Hamilton Field/Entrada Drive. Keep right. Follow the signs for Bell Marin Keys Blvd/Hamilton Fld/ Nave Drive. Turn right on Nave Drive. In ½ mile turn left on Hamilton Parkway.
Continue 0.4 mile to the locked gate at the intersection of unmarked Aberdeen Road. (Aberdeen Road does not appear on some maps/navigation systems.) Enter the GPS coordinates: 38.059809, -122.526582 into your navigation system). The gate is about 500 ft southeast along Hamilton Parkway from the Novato Skatepark just before a newer housing development.
FROM the SOUTH: From Highway 101 north bound, take Exit 459, Nave Drive toward Hamilton Field (Fld), Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Nave Dr/Hamilton Fld. Merge onto Nave Drive. Continue for 0.9 mile. Turn right onto Hamilton Field Parkway.
