LOCATION: Marin Audubon Society’s Bahia Wetlands Restoration, Novato, CA
Bahia is a large natural area between Atherton Avenue and the Petaluma River that Marin Audubon acquired 13 years ago, and restored back to wetlands by breaching the levees and reconstructing the land. We will be removing invasive plants in the upland and seasonal wetland areas to protect the native plantings that are getting established there. The program will focus on wetlands, wetland plants, and their importance to birds and other wildlife.
Appropriate for what ages/what degree of difficulty: Any age, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
Attendees should wear: Layered clothes and closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. A sun hat is recommended.
Attendees should bring: Lunch (optional).
Event sponsor will provide: Gloves, tools, supplies, sunscreen, snacks and water
Note: There are no bathrooms onsite.

Heavy rain will definitely cancel. If it’s known the day before the program, all registered participants will be notified by the evening before the program.
If rain is possible on the day of the event, please call (415) 668-1242 after 7:30 a.m. on the event day for a message informing participants if the workday will proceed or not.
