We’ll visit Betsy Clebsch’s garden in La Honda, lunch there, then repair to Edgewood Park and Preserve in San Mateo County.
Clebsch wrote “A Book of Salvias: Sages for Every Garden” and “The New Book of Salvias,” the authoritative guides to the genus. She has gardened for several decades on a scenic, sunny ridgetop in the Santa Cruz Mts., where she grows not only salvias, but a host of interesting perennials, shrubs, vines, succulents, old roses and California natives with a minimum water but maximum love.
Edgewood Park and Prserve is an excellent spot for summer shows of native flora, and Kristin Jakob will lead the way. A plant list can be found here.
