Soulajule Reservoir is a little known gem in northern Marin County. We’ll hike around the far side of the reservoir to look for rare plants. This area is a lovely mixed forest with a mostly intact understory. Indian paintbrush species abound and Western pond turtles make a splash as well.

Degree of difficulty: 2 to 3 miles round-trip, relatively flat, possibly muddy. There is a plank to cross over the water and a short incline at the start.
Bring: Hat, water bottle, sunscreen, lunch Leader will supply: Snacks and water

Carpool directions: Carpool will leave Fairfax Parkade lot at 9:00 a.m. 1942 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, Fairfax, CA
Driving directions: If not carpooling, meet at 10:00 a.m. at the dirt lot below the dam on Arroya Sausal Road. This is 1 mile from the turn off to the Marshall Petaluma Road.
