Leaders: Jackie Garcia, Caroline Christman, Stacey Pogorzelski

Jackie Garcia – garden party
by Stacey Pogorzelski

Want to walk into your garden and see butterflies fluttering overhead? Birds pecking seeds? Bees gathering pollen? Maybe your goal is to add drought-tolerant plants and reduce your water bill. Adding native habitat plants to your yard is a great way to attract beneficial wildlife and be climate conscious.

Join us! Together we can observe and better understand the native habitat that surrounds us and discuss how best to incorporate native plants in our gardens to achieve our habitat garden goals. The first meeting will include a walk on the levee to observe native plants and a visit to an example garden. There will also be experienced gardeners on hand to answer questions. Let’s explore creating a community of habitat gardeners.

Meet at the Santa Venetia Marsh Preserve levee entrance near the old McPhail School. It is near the corner of Adrian Way and the shorter Vendola Drive (there are two Vendola Drives in Santa Venetia). After viewing native habitat along a portion of the levee, we will walk to Jackie’s nearby garden.

RSVP to Jackie  Limit 15 people. Contact Jackie for rainy day options.
