In our summer, it’s spring in the Sierra. If you can’t get to the mountains, don’t worry, the mountains will come to you. More specifically, to the Siskiyous and Sierra sections of the beautiful Tilden Botanic Garden in Berkeley (just an hour away). To word that another way, when the heat of summer has baked the Bay Area hills, it’s still green and gorgeous at the Tilden Botanic Garden.
The Regional Parks Botanic Garden is a “living museum” of California’s varied plant communities, from deserts and alpine meadows to chaparral and coastal rainforests. We will explore the seasonal highlights of the garden with Botanic Garden Docent Anna Gil (also an active Marin Chapter member).
Directions: East Bay Regional Parks Botanic Garden, Tilden Park, via Shasta Road approach, Berkeley. Intersection of Wildcat Canyon Road and South Park Road.
