Novato Baylands, Matt Keller

Novato Baylands is a thriving wetland restored from the former Hamilton Army Airfield. A key component is the beneficial reuse of dredged material from San Francisco Bay waterways. Point Blue Conservation Science (Point Blue) manages restoration efforts at the site. Come tour their nursery and some of the restoration areas and find out how you can volunteer for this project! Read more about this project

There will be around 1.5 miles of walking, flat, with a possible side trip up nearby Reservoir Hill. We will have vehicles available for those who need a lift to the flat area of the site (no vehicles allowed up Reservoir Hill). Please stay to eat your lunch in the nursery garden if you can.

Alycia Matz, Restoration Project Manager for Point Blue, and Leia Giambastiani, Senior Restoration Project Manager for Students and Teachers Restoring A Watershed (STRAW) at Point Blue, will be speaking about Point Blue’s restoration programs at the CNPS Marin Chapter Meeting, May 13,  7:30pm.  Zoom Presentation  Register here.
