REMEMBERING GERD JAKOB

February 21, 1929–January 16, 2020

CNPS Marin Poster Sales Chair 1983–2019

Gerd Jakob passed away peacefully at home in
January, of COPD. The Marin Chapter will greatly miss
one of its most beloved, longtime volunteers. Always
cheerful and outgoing, Gerd was a welcome presence
at almost every membership meeting until her health
began to decline in 2019. And, until a few years ago,
she also sold posters at chapter plant sales and many
other events, as well as to parks and retail outlets.

Discovering CNPS through her daughter, Kristin Jakob,
who had developed a strong interest in California
native plants in her early teens, Gerd and the family
joined the society in the 1970s.
