Thursday, June 16, 10 – 11:30a.m.  2016

By June, there should be quite a show of perennial plants in bloom. We’ll hear how the Academy built and maintains a garden on the roof of the museum, the benefits of green roofs, and how plants are selected to encourage wildlife, as well as some details about the scientific research that has been completed in this dynamic outdoor classroom. The tour will end with a look at the other California native gardens located around the perimeter of the building, which you are welcome to explore further after the tour concludes. The tour does not include admission to the Academy.
